Amoroso's Drivers Keep Safety First

Ask any Amoroso's driver about the hazards of the open road, and you are sure to hear a wealth of anecdotes about the careless, aggressive, and downright dangerous drivers to be found throughout the Delaware Valley and beyond. And it's not just the other drivers that are cause for concern.

Hazardous road and weather conditions, a momentary lapse in concentration, the sameness of the everyday routine, and loading and unloading conditions, are just some of the factors that affect our drivers' safety. For them, working safe means never forgetting that accidents can happen on the road, in the warehouse, while loading and unloading, while handling our product and packaging materials, and while delivering to customers.

According to some experts, about 90% of all work-related accidents are caused by unsafe acts. In other words, mishaps occur when people forget to keep safety uppermost in their minds at all times. Which makes the achievements of our Amoroso's drivers even more impressive.

The Quarter Century Club ...
Can you imagine driving and working accident free for five, 10 or 15 years? How about 25? Sounds impossible doesn't it? Drivers like Mike Yuliannetti, celebrating a quarter century of safe driving, prove that putting safety first pays off in big. Now that's an impressive record. Congratulations, Mike -- Here's to the next 25!

Celebrating 20 Plus Accident Free Years...
With only one year to go until they celebrate their own Silver Anniversaries and with 24 years of safe driving are Charlie Siefiert, and Fred Hilliard. Right behind them are Ed Luberski and Gerry Keavney with 23. Frank Barone marks 22 years of safety, and Dennis Nowas observes 21 while Jack Dudo, Dave Heaton and Frank Del Lutto join the 20-Year Club!

Driving Safely for 10 Plus Years...
Carmen Boccella stands with 19 years of unmarred driving under his belt, with Ray Young behind him at 18. Marking 17 safety conscious years are Bob Falo, Danny Griggs, and Jim McEwen. Coming in at 14 years and counting are Mike Bohannon, Kerry Osterman, Jerry Boyle and Ed Skowrenski.

13 is the lucky number for John Tribiani, and Kevin Knoble and Bill Scuggin have 12 safe years of driving under their wheels. Working safe has worked like gangbusters for Tom Marren, Ed Carroll and Tony Knosky, all of whom are celebrating 11 years. Coming in with 10 years of operating with care are Joe D'Ochhio, Steve Ruane, Joe Godericci, and Ernie Lanzetta.

Two to Nine is Really Fine...
John Brusko, Kurt Swanson, and Steve Hagert are all marking nine years of exemplary driving, with Alan Christman and Dave Hagerty right behind them with eight. Marking seven years of safety is Brian Conroy, and six is the lucky number for Mike Dewes, Mike Novick, John Gantz and Fred Parrise.

Jim Heydt commemorates his fifth year anniversary, and celebrating four years of safety are Frank Brown, Bob Higgins, Andy Horton, Dave Gonzalez, Phil Heisserman, Dave Watson, and Bill Manuella. Marking three years and counting are John Stiener, Bill Woodring, Sean Amoroso, Mike Esposito, Bob Garrett, Jeff Schmidt, Rick Slate, Steve Brown, Dick Senst, Mike Melone and Rich Lictman. Two years later, these guys should be proud of their safety records: Gary Moore, Matt Bingimire, Rich Melone, John Karpyn, Joe Quigley, George Bush, Scott Twesten and Dave Constantine.

It All Begins with that First Year of Safety...
With one year of safe driving behind them, recognition is due to the newest inductees into the Amoroso's Baking Company Safe Drivers Hall of Fame. They are: Mike Mehler, John Harris, Bill Christie, Mike McCann, Peter Gerace, Rich Blakemore, Chris Shelton, Joe Heim, Howard Coupen, Dave Slavin, Mike Campione, Joe Moretta, Craig Latchum, Bob Dietz, Tony Carnouale, Ed Birzes, Sal Amoroso, Steve Stoccardo, and Len Perone.

Congratulations to each and every one of these individuals. Your efforts have been outstanding. By working safe and working smart, you demonstrate your commitment to winning the safety battle. However, we will not reach our goals until every driver is included on the list. We still have room for improvement and are confident our goals are within reach.
